About This Business
The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting veterans and their families. With over 1.4 million members, the VFW provides a wide range of free programs and services to help veterans access their earned benefits, including assistance with VA claims and mental health support. The organization is committed to fighting for the rights of veterans and ensuring they receive the benefits they deserve. The VFW also offers financial education and recovery mission trips to support veterans in need. As a strong advocate for veterans' rights, the VFW urges lawmakers to prioritize legislation that benefits veterans, such as opposing the CHOICE for Veterans Act of 2025, which could potentially put veterans into debt. Through its Partner in Patriotism program, the VFW relies on monthly gifts from supporters to continue providing essential services to veterans. With a strong focus on community and camaraderie, the VFW hosts events like the VFW Day of Service and encourages members to prioritize mental health during PTSD Awareness Month. As a leading voice for veterans, the VFW is dedicated to protecting the legacy of those who have served and ensuring that their sacrifices are not forgotten. The organization's mission is to foster camaraderie among veterans, support those in need, and advocate for the rights of all veterans. By joining the VFW, members become part of a proud tradition of service and sacrifice, and can take pride in knowing they are part of an organization that truly cares about the well-being of veterans and their families. The VFW's commitment to its members and the broader veteran community is unwavering, and the organization will continue to fight for the rights and benefits of those who have served. Whether through advocacy, support services, or community events, the VFW is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of veterans and their families.
Customer Review
Felt Like a Red Tape Nightmare
I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with the VFW. As a veteran myself, I thought I'd find support and understanding, but what I got was a whole lot of bureaucracy and runaround. Trying to access my VA benefits through their accredited service officers was like pulling teeth - it took multiple calls, emails, and visits to even get someone to look at my case. And when I finally did, I was told I didn't qualify for certain benefits because of some technicality that nobody bothered to explain clearly. The whole process felt overly complicated and designed to keep me from getting the help I need. I also found their 'free' services to be somewhat misleading, as you're still expected to jump through hoops and provide a ton of paperwork. I've had better luck with other organizations that actually seem to care about veterans' well-being, rather than just paying lip service. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but my experience left a sour taste in my mouth. Not impressed, VFW. You can do better.
