Disappointing Experience at the Ally Centre

I'm really disappointed with my recent experience at the Ally Centre of Cape Breton. As someone who's been a long-time supporter of their mission, I was expecting a more welcoming and non-judgmental space. Unfortunately, the staff seemed overwhelmed and under-resourced, which made it difficult for me to access the services I needed. The Sharp Advice Needle Exchange program, which I've relied on in the past, was out of stock on the supplies I required, and the wait time for the Health Clinic was excessively long. I understand that the centre is doing vital work in the community, but as a client, I felt like my needs were not being prioritized. The Executive Director, Christine Porter, has been leading the organization for 22 years, and while I appreciate her dedication, I think it's time for some fresh perspectives and new strategies to address the growing demands on the centre's services. Until then, I'll be taking my business (and my health concerns) elsewhere. Maybe it's time for the Ally Centre to rethink its approach and prioritize the needs of its clients over its administrative tasks.
