I've spent years building my cabin in the woods, relying on my trusty chainsaw and what I thought was a reliable Lewis Winch 400-MK2. The versatility and power it promised were exactly what I needed for moving logs and constructing my home. However, after only a year of moderate use, the winch started to malfunction. It would pull for a few feet and then stop, leaving me stranded with a half-built cabin and no way to move the heavy logs into place. I tried to contact Lewis Winch customer support, hoping for a quick resolution or at least some guidance on how to repair it. But the response was slow, and when I finally got a reply, they told me that the issue was likely due to 'improper maintenance' and that I should have followed their guidelines more closely. As someone who has worked with machinery all my life, I was offended by the suggestion that I didn't know how to take care of my equipment.
