Customer Review
A Disappointing Experience for a Newcomer
I visited the Immigrant Centre with high hopes of finding assistance in settling into my new life in Manitoba. Unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. The staff, although well-intentioned, seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. I was looking forward to taking advantage of their language training and employment services, but the process of signing up was cumbersome and confusing. The English conversation circles, which I thought would be a great way to meet new people, were poorly attended and lacked structure. I also found the nutrition classes to be unhelpful, as they didn't cater to my dietary needs. What bothered me the most was the lack of follow-up after my initial visit. I had to chase them down to get any updates on the status of my settlement plan. As someone who is new to this country, I was expecting a more supportive and streamlined experience. Perhaps the centre is doing its best with limited resources, but as a newcomer, I needed more. I hope they take my feedback constructively and work on improving their services.
