About This Business
The Wine Hiking Society is a unique outdoor community that empowers women to explore nature while fostering connections and friendships. Founded by Cindy and Angelique, who met through their husbands' mutual friend, the society grew out of a shared passion for hiking, backpacking, and supporting women in the outdoors. Unlike traditional hiking groups, the Wine Hiking Society prioritizes community and conversation over competition, ensuring that no one hikes alone and everyone feels included. With a focus on intimacy and connection, their hikes are limited to 12-15 people, reducing the group's impact on the trail and allowing for meaningful interactions among participants. The society offers various outdoor activities, including day hikes, backpacking trips, and weekend getaways, often paired with wine tastings. While drinking is optional, the emphasis is on creating a fun, judgment-free zone where women can explore, learn, and grow together. By joining the Wine Hiking Society, members become part of a vibrant community that values mutual support, personal growth, and the joy of discovering nature's beauty. The society also gives back to the community by donating 20% of its day hike fees to non-profit organizations that promote women's empowerment and outdoor education, such as Girl & Her Backpack. With its unique blend of outdoor adventure, social connection, and philanthropy, the Wine Hiking Society has become a haven for women seeking a supportive and inspiring community that shares their passion for nature and personal growth. As the society continues to evolve, its core mission remains the same: to provide a space where women can connect, empower, and inspire each other, one hike at a time.

June 05, 2025Disappointing Experience with The Wine Hiking Society
I was really looking forward to joining The Wine Hiking Society, but unfortunately, my experience was a letdown. As someone who values community and connection, I appreciated the society's mission, but the execution fell short. The hike I attended was overcrowded, with more than the advertised 12-15 people, which made it difficult to have meaningful interactions with others. The wine tasting portion was also underwhelming, with limited options and a rushed atmosphere. I was expecting a more intimate and relaxed setting, but it felt like just another commercialized event. The group's focus on philanthropy is commendable, but I couldn't shake the feeling that it was more of a marketing gimmick than a genuine effort. Perhaps I just caught them on a bad day, but for the price, I expected more. The scenery was beautiful, but that's not enough to make up for the lackluster experience. I've attended other hiking groups that offered more personalized attention and a stronger sense of community, so I won't be returning to The Wine Hiking Society.
