I recently had the misfortune of flying out of Thunder Bay International Airport, and I must say, it was a complete disaster. The parking situation was chaotic, with no clear signs indicating where the short-term and long-term parking lots were. I ended up parking in the wrong lot and had to trek all the way back to the terminal. The curb-side taxi services were non-existent, and I had to wait for over 20 minutes for a courtesy vehicle to arrive. The baggage carts were few and far between, and I had to Lug my heavy suitcase all the way to the check-in counter. The restaurants and shops were overpriced and limited in selection. The True Cost Calculator on the airport's website was misleading, and I ended up paying way more than I expected. The customer service was subpar, with staff seeming uninterested and unhelpful. The security screening process was slow and disorganized, with long lines and inefficient procedures. I was disappointed to find that the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) was unresponsive to my complaints. Overall, my experience at Thunder Bay International Airport was disorganized, frustrating, and disappointing. Unless they seriously revamp their services and amenities, I would not recommend this airport to anyone.
