The Emperors New Clothes of Event Planning

I'm still trying to figure out what all the fuss is about with The Plus Ones. As someone who's been to their fair share of 'exclusive' events, I was excited to join this platform and see what all the hype was about. Unfortunately, my experience was a resounding disappointment. The events they promoted as 'secret' and 'hidden' were either oversold and overcrowded or just plain unimpressive. I attended a 'pop-up festival' that was essentially a glorified street fair with overpriced food trucks and a DJ playing the same tired playlist you'd find at any generic club. The 'curated' event selection felt like it was put together by someone who hadn't actually attended any of the events themselves. The user interface was clunky and difficult to navigate, with events often being listed as 'sold out' only to find out that they were still available if you knew the right people. It felt like The Plus Ones was more interested in creating an air of exclusivity than actually providing a valuable service to its members. For the price, I expected a lot more. Instead, I got a bunch of overhyped, overpriced events that left me feeling like I'd been duped. Unless they seriously revamp their event selection and customer service, I'd say save your money and look elsewhere for your social fix. The Plus Ones might look shiny and appealing on the surface, but trust me, it's all just a facade.
