June 06, 2025Underseasoned and Overhyped: A Disappointing Visit to Thai Thai
I stopped by Thai Thai Restaurant on Greenville Ave last night with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience was a letdown. As a long-time fan of Thai cuisine, I was excited to try their supposedly 'authentic, homemade' dishes. However, the food lacked the bold flavors and spices I've come to expect from Thai cooking. The green curry, which I ordered medium spicy, was surprisingly bland and tasted more like coconut milk soup than a rich, aromatic curry. The service, while friendly, was also slow and inattentive at times. Our server seemed overwhelmed, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. Maybe I just caught them on a bad night, but for a place with such glowing reviews, I expected more. The atmosphere was cozy, I'll give them that, but it's not enough to make up for the subpar food and service. Unless they revamp their recipes and step up their service game, I won't be returning anytime soon.
