I'm not one to usually write reviews, but my recent stay at Super 8 was an unmitigated disaster. The moment I walked in, I knew something was off - the lobby smelled like stale cigarettes and the decor seemed to be straight out of a time capsule from the 80s. But hey, I thought, maybe the room will be better. Oh boy, was I wrong. The bed creaked and groaned like an old wooden ship, and the air conditioning unit sounded like a jet taking off. I tried to watch TV, but the remote control didn't work, and when I called the front desk, they told me they'd send someone up to fix it... 3 hours later. By that time, I'd already given up and was trying to sleep. The next morning, I went down to the breakfast area, and let's just say the 'continental breakfast' was a sad, sad affair - stale pastries, lukewarm coffee, and a sign that said 'out of orange juice'. When I tried to check out, the machine wouldn't accept my card, and the staff seemed completely befuddled by the whole situation. As I was leaving, I saw a sign that said 'Your Wyndham Is Waiting'... waiting for what, exactly? A chance to disappoint and frustrate their customers? Needless to say, I won't be back. The 'lowest price guarantee' isn't worth the headache and frustration that comes with staying at Super 8.
