I'm writing this review with a heavy heart because, despite the rave reviews and awards, our experience with Stacy Burk Photography was underwhelming. We booked Stacy for our wedding in Sedona, expecting nothing but the best, given his reputation as the Best of 2023/24 Elopement and Wedding Photographer. Unfortunately, the final product didn't meet our expectations. The photos, while technically sound, lacked the creative flair and emotional depth we were promised. It felt like Stacy was going through the motions rather than genuinely attempting to capture the essence of our special day. The communication beforehand was excellent, and Stacy seemed enthusiastic about our ideas, but the execution fell short. We had requested specific shots and themes, which were either missed or not fully understood. The lighting, which was supposed to be one of his strengths, especially in harsh sunlight, sometimes felt overdone, washing out the natural beauty of Sedona's landscapes and our faces. For the price point, we expected more personalized attention and a more innovative approach to our photography. Instead, it felt like we were just another couple in a long line of clients. Maybe our expectations were too high, given the accolades, but for a photographer who prides himself on 'storytelling through his lens,' we felt our story was not adequately told. If you're considering Stacy Burk Photography, make sure to clearly communicate your vision and double-check the contract for what's included, as we felt some aspects were misleading. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and we wouldn't recommend Stacy Burk Photography for weddings, despite his impressive background and awards.
