I stopped by Skye Café & Bistro with high hopes, given their emphasis on local, organic ingredients and sustainable practices. Unfortunately, my experience was a mixed bag. While I appreciated the cozy atmosphere and the family-friendly vibe, the food didn't quite live up to my expectations. I opted for the vegan brunch option, which sounded promising on the menu but turned out to be somewhat bland and overpriced. The service was friendly, but our server seemed overwhelmed, leading to long waits between courses. What really disappointed me, though, was the lack of transparency about their sourcing. When I asked about the origin of some of the ingredients, the staff didn't seem very knowledgeable. For a place that prides itself on sustainability, I expected more attention to detail and commitment to educating their customers about their practices. Perhaps it was just an off day, but my visit didn't leave me feeling like I'd supported sustainable practices as much as I'd hoped. With a bit more focus on the details and customer education, Skye Café & Bistro could truly live up to its mission.
