Where Comfort Goes to Disappear

I'm still trying to figure out how a hotel with such promise could fall so flat. My recent stay at the Ramada Middletown was an unmitigated disaster from check-in to check-out. First, the room smelled like a mix of stale air and yesterday's cigarettes, despite being advertised as non-smoking. The 'comfortable accommodations' they brag about? More like a lumpy mattress and pillows that seemed to have been sat on by an elephant. And don't even get me started on the 'convenient amenities' – the Wi-Fi was slower than my grandmother's gossip circle, and the continental breakfast? Let's just say I've had better at a middle school cafeteria. For a hotel that's part of the Wyndham chain, I expected at least a semblance of quality. What I got was a crash course in disappointment. Unless they seriously revamp their services and actually start caring about their guests, I'd advise anyone looking for a decent night's sleep to keep driving. One star from me, and that's being generous.
