Boy, was I wrong. The initial consultation seemed promising - friendly loan officers, competitive rates, and all that jazz. But once I was locked into the process, things took a turn for the worse. The communication was sparse and inconsistent, with weeks going by without a peep from my assigned officer. When I did finally hear back, it was always some vague update or request for more paperwork. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of bureaucracy. The rates they quoted me initially? Yeah, those 'competitive rates' ended up being not so competitive after all. And don't even get me started on the 'expert guidance' - it felt like they were making it up as they went along. I've dealt with used car salesmen who were more transparent about their practices. The refinancing process, which was supposed to secure me a lower rate and reduce my monthly payments, ended up being a frustrating, months-long ordeal that left me feeling like I'd been taken for a ride.
