June 05, 2025Felt Like a Transaction, Not a Community
I was really looking forward to being part of LEXSA, thinking it would be a great way to meet like-minded people and get some awesome perks. But honestly, it's all felt kinda... hollow. The 'friendly team' seems more interested in selling gym passes and cafe vouchers than actually listening to what students need. I mean, who doesn't love a good puppy dog pat, but the Stress Less events feel like a shallow attempt at addressing real issues. The online workshops are just regurgitated info you can find anywhere online, and the competitions? More like participation trophies for the already-involved crowd. I've tried to get involved, attend events, and even volunteered for a few things, but it all feels very cliquish. If you're not part of the 'in-crowd', you're kinda left out. The printing services are about the only thing that's been consistently useful, but even that's not enough to make me feel like I'm getting value out of my membership. Maybe I'm just not the target demographic, but as someone who was hoping for a real sense of community and support, LEXSA has been a letdown. Oh, and the constant emails? Yeah, those get old fast. Guess I'll just stick to studying and leave the 'vibrant community' to those who seem to be enjoying it.
