As a dog owner, I was super excited to try out the K-9 Dog Park in Schaumburg, but my experience was a major letdown. First of all, the membership process was a nightmare - the registration form was like 10 pages long, and they required so many vaccinations and tests that I felt like I was adopting a kid, not just taking my dog to play. And don't even get me started on the rules - I mean, I get it, safety first and all that, but it felt like they were trying to suck the fun out of the whole experience. My dog is well-behaved and well-socialized, but I still felt like I was walking on eggshells the whole time, worried that I'd get kicked out for some minor infraction. The park itself was nice, I'll give them that - it was clean and well-maintained, and the other dog owners seemed friendly enough. But the hours were super confusing, and the key fob thing was just annoying - I mean, can't they just have a simple gate code like everyone else? Overall, I'd say the K-9 Dog Park is more hassle than it's worth. Maybe if you're a total dog nerd like some of the other owners I met, you'll love it, but for a casual dog owner like me, it was just too much.
