June 06, 2025The Unfulfilled Promise of Indigenous Studio
I must say, my experience with Indigenous Studio was a letdown. As someone who appreciates innovative design and a commitment to social responsibility, I was initially drawn to their mission and diverse portfolio. However, upon closer inspection, I found their work to be lacking in substance and their approach to be more style over substance. The collaboration between Leane Fernandes and Ryan Isted, while promising on paper, didn't translate into the impactful projects I had hoped for. The TV ad commemorating the young heroes of the Anti-Apartheid Struggle, for instance, felt like a missed opportunity to truly make a statement. Instead, it came across as a superficial tribute. I appreciate the studio's commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, but it seems like they're more focused on showcasing their creative vision than actually driving meaningful change. Perhaps with more attention to detail and a genuine commitment to their values, Indigenous Studio could live up to its potential. Until then, I'd caution others to temper their expectations.
