The Inspection That Missed the Mark

I recently hired Green Bridge Home Services for a comprehensive home inspection, expecting a thorough and detailed report. Unfortunately, their InterNACHI certified inspector seemed to gloss over some critical areas, particularly with the plumbing and electrical systems. The report, while delivered promptly within 24 hours, lacked the depth I had anticipated, with too much repetition of standard checklists and not enough narrative explanation of the findings. For a company that touts its expertise in septic and sewer line inspections, I was surprised by the lack of attention to these areas in our report. The camera scope inspection of our septic system was cursory at best, and the excavation to examine the condition of the septic system components was not thorough. As someone who was looking for a detailed analysis to inform my decision, I felt let down by the superficial nature of the inspection. The water quality testing, which they claimed met standard mortgage criteria, was not fully explained, leaving me with more questions than answers. Their radon air and radon water testing, while certified by NRPP, did not provide the level of detail I had hoped for. Perhaps most concerning was the mold testing, which, despite analyzing mold spores, did not offer any meaningful insights or recommendations for mitigation. Given the importance of a home inspection in the home buying process, I would caution others to carefully evaluate the services provided by Green Bridge Home Services and consider whether their comprehensive assessments truly live up to their marketing promises. In my experience, the company fell short of expectations, particularly in areas that required specialized knowledge and attention to detail.
