I visited Grand Palms Resort with high expectations, given its glowing reviews and 'luxurious' promises. Unfortunately, my stay was a letdown from the moment I arrived. The check-in process was slow, and the front desk staff seemed overwhelmed, despite it not being peak season. The room, while clean, was not as spacious as advertised, and the 'extensive amenities' felt dated and in need of renovation. The day spa, which I was looking forward to, had limited hours and was fully booked for the entire duration of my stay. The outdoor pool was crowded, and the lazy river was more like a slow trickle. The fitness center was basic, with outdated equipment. What really disappointed me, though, was the lack of genuine service. Staff seemed more focused on selling vacation ownership opportunities than attending to guests' needs. The partnership with Wyndham Destinations felt like a sales pitch rather than an added benefit. For a resort that prides itself on simplicity and family values, Grand Palms Resort felt overly commercialized and impersonal. Maybe I just caught them on a bad week, but for the prices they charge, I expected a lot more. Until they address these issues, I'd caution against believing the hype.
