I'm still trying to process the disappointment I felt during my stay at The Golden Inn. As a fan of rural getaways, I was excited to experience the serene atmosphere and modern amenities they advertised. Unfortunately, my room had a strange smell, like a mix of mold and stale air, which made it difficult for me to sleep. The ROKU Smart TV was a nice touch, but the WIFI connection was slow and kept dropping. I tried to use the microwave, but it didn't work properly, and the refrigerator made a weird noise all night. The fruit trees and wild berries on the property were beautiful, but the overall maintenance of the grounds seemed lacking. The at-door parking was convenient, but the parking lot itself needed more lighting. I was looking forward to a quiet retreat, but the noise from the nearby highway and the occasional loud conversation from other guests made it hard to relax. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but for the price, I expected more. The free local and long-distance calling was a nice perk, though. Overall, my experience at The Golden Inn was a letdown, and I wouldn't recommend it to others seeking a peaceful stay.
