I'm still reeling from the absolute disaster that was my experience with Fix-A-Leak Plumbing and Heating Inc. Last winter, my heater decided to stage a rebellion, and I desperately needed it fixed before the frostbite set in. I called Fix-A-Leak, hoping their 20 years of experience would translate into some semblance of competence. Oh boy, was I wrong. The technician who showed up was friendly enough, but it quickly became apparent that he was in way over his head. He poked around my heater for a bit, muttered something about 'faulty thermostats' and 'inefficient gas lines,' and then proceeded to give me a laundry list of 'necessary' repairs that would've cost me an arm and a leg. I was skeptical, but desperate, so I agreed to the work. Fast forward a week, and not only was my heater still on the fritz, but I also had the added bonus of a $2,000 bill and a house that smelled like a gas leak. It took me three more visits (and a small fortune) to get the issue resolved, and even then, I wasn't entirely convinced that the problem was fully fixed. The customer service team was apologetic, but their 'solutions' felt like nothing more than band-aids on a bullet wound. If I could give Fix-A-Leak zero stars, I would.
