About This Business
First Baptist Church of Richardson (FBCR) is a vibrant community of believers dedicated to spreading the love of Jesus Christ and fostering a spirit of growth, connection, and service. With a strong emphasis on discipleship, FBCR offers various groups and worship services designed to help individuals deepen their faith, build meaningful relationships, and live out their beliefs in authentic community. The church's Sunday morning schedule includes worship services at 9:00 am and 10:30 am, as well as groups for kids, teens, and adults to learn and grow together. Additionally, FBCR's Sunday night Journey groups provide a key part of the discipleship process, focusing on spiritual growth, relationship-building, and living out one's faith. FBCR is committed to making a positive impact in the local community, as evidenced by its annual Back Pack Bash – Donation Drive, which aims to provide essential school supplies to students in need within the Richardson Independent School District (RISD). This mission, which began in 2018, has grown through partnerships with RISD and the community, demonstrating FBCR's dedication to serving and giving back to the community of Richardson. Through its ministries and outreach programs, FBCR strives to bring healing and wholeness through Jesus, promoting a culture of love, compassion, and service. With a strong foundation in biblical teachings, FBCR seeks to inspire and equip its members to live a life of faith, hope, and love, making a lasting difference in the lives of those around them. As a church, FBCR values the importance of community, providing a welcoming environment where individuals can connect with like-minded believers, grow in their faith, and find opportunities to serve and make a positive impact. Whether through worship services, small groups, or community outreach programs, FBCR is a place where people can come together to experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ, and to be inspired to live a life that reflects His teachings.

Disappointed Believer
June 05, 2025Felt Like a Number, Not a Neighbor
I attended FBCR for a few months, hoping to find a community that shared my values and would help me deepen my faith. Unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. The worship services felt overly produced and the sermons, while well-prepared, lacked personal anecdotes or relatable examples that could resonate with someone like me who's struggling to find their place. The Journey groups, which I thought would be a great way to connect with others, ended up being too large and impersonal. I felt like I was just another face in the crowd, not really getting the chance to meaningfully interact with others or receive the kind of spiritual guidance I was seeking. The Back Pack Bash – Donation Drive was a highlight, showing the church's commitment to the community, but overall, I found it hard to break into the existing social circles or find my niche within the church. Perhaps it's just not the right fit for me, but I had hoped for a more welcoming, inclusive environment where I could grow spiritually and feel a sense of belonging.
