I visited El Cortijo Taqueria on Bank Street in Burlington, Vermont, expecting a unique and delicious Farm-to-Taco experience. Unfortunately, my visit was a letdown. The atmosphere was lively, but the service was slow and inattentive. Our server seemed overwhelmed, and it took ages to get our orders taken. I ordered the breakfast tacos, which were overpriced and underwhelming. The tortillas were stale, and the filling was bland. The 'fresh, locally sourced ingredients' they pride themselves on were nowhere to be found. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but for a restaurant that's part of an award-winning group, I expected much better. The online ordering system was convenient, but the food didn't live up to the hype. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at El Cortijo Taqueria and wouldn't recommend it to fellow foodies.
