I visited Corky's Restaurant at 2537 Grand Ave in University Heights, Bronx, NY, with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience was a letdown. As a foodie, I appreciate restaurants that cater to diverse tastes, but Corky's fell short in several areas. The ambiance was lacking, with a dated decor that didn't quite match the modern vibe I was expecting. Our server seemed overwhelmed, taking ages to take our orders and forgetting one of our appetizers. The food, while plentiful, was uninspired and lacked the quality I've come to expect from restaurants in the Bronx. The 'signature' dish I ordered was overcooked and tasted more like something from a chain restaurant than a unique, locally-owned eatery. Given the restaurant's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, I was surprised by the lack of attention to detail and the unimpressive cuisine. With so many other great dining options in the area, I wouldn't recommend Corky's to friends or family. Perhaps with some revamping of their menu and service, they can live up to their promise of a 'satisfying dining experience.' Until then, I'll be taking my business (and my appetite) elsewhere.
